Overview of Cassa Integrazione, Dismissals and Unemployment - June 2013

Authorized hours of CIG (Area of Milan), CIG Ordinary (Assolombarda companies) and Unemployment (Italy and other countries).

The first half year of 2013, as compared to the same period of 2012, showed a growth by 4.6% of authorized hours of Cassa Integrazione Guadagni at national level and a decrease by 2.3% in the Area of Milan.


Focusing on the Area of Milan and on value of June 2013, the number of authorized hours was static in comparison both with previous month (May 2013) and last years (June 2012). This  stability was a result of different trend: CIG in deroga diminished strongly (-92%) and CIG Ordinaria increased considerably (+48%).


In June 2013 the growth of CIG Ordinaria involved also Assolombarda companies, whose trend, compared to the previous month, was even stronger (+54%).


The Italian Unemployment rate kept increasing: in May 2013 the rate went up to 12.2% (from 12% of April). For the first time the Italian rate reached Euro Area average, that where the trend has been increasing since several months. On the contrary, in Germany the even low unemployment rate went down to 5.3% from 5.4% of April.
