Overview of Cassa Integrazione, Dismissals and Unemployment - February 2013

Authorized hours of CIG (Area of Milan), CIG Ordinary (Assolombarda companies) and Unemployment (Italy and other countries).

In February the authorized hours of Cassa integrazione Guadagni decreased as compared with January 2013 both in the Area of Milan and in Italy: the lower utilization of CIG was mainly due to the reduction of CIG in Deroga. In the Area of Milan the reduction of hours of CIG is higher than February 2012 (-37%).

On the contrary, the Assolombarda companies’ hours of CIGO increased in February as compared with January.

The Italian Unemployment rate went up to 11.7% in January 2013 from 11.3% in December 2012; but the Italian rate remained under the Euro Area average (11.9%). In Europe, except for German rate static at 5.3% for several months, Unemployment rate increased both in France and in Spain. The Unemployment grew also in the USA.
